SME Cone fender system, together with our acclaimed Cell fender system, forms the cornerstone of our product portfolio and has gained tremendous market acceptance.

The system is unique and offers two conical design options: Chinese Cone and International Cone. Both types of cone fenders exhibit the same outstanding performance, ensuring superior cushioning and protection in a variety of application scenarios. The only difference between them is their external dimensions, which can be tailored to the different needs of customers and installation environments.

Cone fender Types

 

Despite the different code names, the external dimensions of Cell fender bodies are very consistent across manufacturers worldwide. However, Cone fenders vary significantly, with multiple versions such as the International Cone (SCN), Chinese Cone, and the Japanese Cone. These subtle differences in detail and size create challenges in the repair and replacement of older dock fender systems because interchangeability is not guaranteed.

 

Therefore, when we design and select solutions, in addition to paying attention to the performance indicators of the product, we should also understand this difference.

Similar to Cell fender system, the Cone Fender system is also a sophisticated integrated component, comprising key elements such as the fender body, frontal panel, panel pads, weight chains, shear chains, and anchoring systems. During the design process, we typically tailor the structure flexibly based on specific application requirements and scenarios.

 

The Cone Fenders can be configured in various layout modes to meet diverse collision protection and energy absorption needs. These include, but are not limited to, the single-cone single-panel mode, where a single cone fender unit is paired with a frontal panel, and more complex arrangements where two or more cones share a single frontal panel. Such designs optimize space utilization while ensuring protective effectiveness, thereby reducing costs.
